COLEUS

COLEUS CULTIVATION

The plant called the Coleus, Botanic name Coleus forskohlil is an aromatic perennial plant about two feet tall when fully mature. Coleus possesses tuber like roots and a straight anderect stem with colourful leaves. The coleus has an aromatic fragrance resembling the scent of the camphor plant.

USES

Coleus eye drops can significantly decrease eye pressure in healthy people without eye disease. Coleus has not yet been tested in patients with glaucoma.

Some other uses:
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs) and bladder infections.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Good source for Cancer.

CULTIVATION

The coleus plant is native to Indiana and originally grew only there. These days, the coleus is used as an ornamental plant in many gardens and herbaria around the world. Coleus is also cultivated in other countries with a tropical or sub tropical climate Coleus grows at an optimal; rate in soils that have. Good drainage. Coleus can grow equally well in sites with direct exposure to sunlight as well as in partially shaded areas.

SPECIES

Coleus is Medicinal herb; it’s a bushy growing up to 2 feet. The active ingredient is Forskolin which is extracted by solvent extraction and exported to Japan, Germany, USA and Russia for drug formulation. This crop need irrigation and can be sown from July to March. Sandy loamy soil is good for this crop but it can be taken on other soil with little amendment and proper management.

MARKETING

This crop need irrigation and can be sown any time (except extreme climatic conditions). Generally its dry roots are marketed but its wet root also can be marketed easily. Our company also provides the facility of Buy Back agreement.

HARVESTING

After planting harvest can be done after 5-6 months. Make sure tubers should not be damage while harvesting. After harvest, the tubers are the cut into small pieces & allow drying under shade until it reaches 8% moisture level.

  1. Coleus growing first harvesting practical training.
  2. This includes Supervision, consultancy, guidance, Transportation cost first year.
  3. Plantation cost is to be borne only once.
  4. Buy back Agreement of coleus dry roots.
  5. Production in 7th month and only one time production. (7th month plant life)
  6. Sowing time for coleus “July to March”.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF COMPANY

  1. For 1 Acre plantation cost of plant (cutting) is Rs. 33,000/-, out of which 50% i.e. Rs. 16,500/- has to be paid before the cultivation and the remaining half after the Planting is done.
  2. The Buy Back Agreement Stamp paper of Rs.100/- has to be stamped by District Court of your area.
  3. For 10 Acre or more yield the buy Back Agreement Stamp Paper will be of Rs.500/-.
